Literature Text

I wonder who I am,
I look in the mirror,
No matter what I do,
The image never looks clearer.

The Bruises that lie across my face,
Seem to get darker each day,
The broken nose not showing who I was,
The injuries don't seem to go away.

Not once have I seen myself,
Without what the world has seen,
A girl who doesn't speak her mind,
A shy, quiet teen.

Someone who always worked to hard,
One who never learned to fight,
That would just write what I could,
And spent my time being up all night.

Now I am changing who I am,
Becoming more of an individual person,
I'll become who I can,
Even if my days worsen.

I'm going to be different,
No matter how many doors I must ram,
To become someone who is really me,
I'll make myself who I am.
A poem I wrote for my Journal then ended up actually being something that came from inside my heart.

I hope you enjoy.

please don't bash in your comments. Critiques keep in mind I'm getting back into poetry
